Lighttherapy with Bright Light

Light Therapy with bright light

Daylight is one of the strongest external stimuli for human brains to release certain hormones and messengers. This substances strongly influence our activities, emotions and our well-being. For light therapy, predominantly bright white light is used, which functions over the eyes and can influence the release of hormones as for instance serotonin. These complex processes only work properly if sufficiently strong light (starting from about 2.500 lux) is available for 0.5 - 2 hours per day.
Standard lamps normally achieve illuminance of about 500 lux - note that for therapeutic success, at least 2.500 lux are required! Learn more.
